Sleep is the Swiss Army Knife of health and one of the most overlooked topics in Wellness Training.
We led a Sleep Awareness Workshop for a large European bank and Asset Management company with 5000+ employees worldwide.
The workshop was a deep dive into the overlooked importance of sleep to physical, mental and emotional health, wellbeing, learning, productivity, creativity, relationships and even your chances of contracting COVID-19.
After understanding how sleep worked, we discussed a sensitive topic to corporate culture and the achievement-oriented cosmopolitan city we live in – a shortcut to sleep that is tempting to many Hongkongers – Sleeping Pills.
The workshop was experiential including natural ways to improve sleep hygiene, relax and improve sleep quality WITHOUT relying on sleeping pills / alcohol.
Some techniques included
· Breathing Exercises
· Mindfulness
· Changing Habits: caffeine, exposure to blue light, melatonin levels
48% Percent of Hongkongers suffered from insomnia in 2018, and that number increased by 30% when COVID hit us.
